სიმღერა "family Portrait" შესულია ალბომში სახელწოდებით "Missundaztood" რომელიც 2001 წელს გამოიცა. მომღერლის ნამდვილი სახელი და გვარია Alecia Beth Moore სიმღერა "family Portrait" კი თავისი ოჯახის ისტორიაზე დაწერა. სიმღერა მოგვითრობს განქორწინების პრობლემებზე და ბავშვის ემოციებზე. სიმღერაზე საკმაოდ კარგი რეცენზიები იწერებოდა და როგორც კრიტიკოსები ამბობდნენ ეს იყო საუკეტესო ნამუშევარი P!NK-ის შემოქმედებაში. ეს სიმღერა მოხვდა "U.S. Bilboard Hot 100” მეთერთმეტე ადგილზე და U.K Top 20-ში. სიმღერა დიდი ხნის მანძილზე იყო ამერიკის და ბრიტანეტის ჩარტებში. პინკი იყო 9 წლის როდესაც მისი მშობლები ერთმანეტს დაშორდნენ და ის ამას ძალიან განიცდიდა. მან ეს სიმღერა 9 წლის ასაკში დაწერა და როდესაც სინგლი ჩაწერა ის იყო 21 წლის. პინკი აცხადებს : "That was from a poem that I wrote when I was 9 when my dad left. My mom cried for four days when she heard it. I've seen my dad cry three times and that was one of them; that was awful. And then my stepmom cried.
